Under the bonnet day

Well good morning all, today is going to be an under the bonnet day, see if i cant sort this bloody water leak out once and for all, although i wont get to it till bit later, the Mrs wants me to take her shopping, then i get a bit of peace before the daughter gets back from being on holiday at her nans,

But on the up side i then have a little one who keeps wanting to help her Daddy with the car awwwwww, for a 10 year old she has a lot of interest, so she can help later :)

Anyway as i was saying, my head is under the bonnet today, as it doesn't look right under there, soooo removing all hoses and giving them an inspection and clean up, and try to degrease the engine a bit, re seat everything, and see how we go.

the turbo seems a little un-willing to give any power, although Ive noticed the pipes connecting to it are somewhat looser than they should be, back in a while with some pictures and maybe a video if i can figure it out :)

Ok battery on the cam has died lol, oh well its on charge now, still i have been busy today so not had the chance yet to work on anything, that's the wife's fault lol . hopefully back shortly :)

Hi All I'm back , i didn't get to the point of taking off the hoses but i have fixed a 3 year old problem, i was told about

The previous owner told me the alarm had stopped working 3 years ago, after checking the battery in the key fob, i found that to be fine and in working order, i took the alarm unit off cleaned up the connections checked the wiring and re assembled the whole this, pressed the button and woohoo it worked

It was a little tight to get behind to leave it connected , and the filth under the hood is unreal, but i have gone for a clean under there and now its not as bad as it was . I did find a battery compartment under there, not sure what it was for, maybe a back up in case the main battery dies.
ANYWAY, engine compartment

There are a few things out of place which i intent to get sorted over the following days. as you can see between both pictures i have cleaned it up a bit better than it was
you can clearly see the difference in the after pic. i cleaned as much as i could before getting to cold to carry on. I did discover another loose thing, the rad grill hadn't been replaced properly and was rattling, i did find how to correct it whilst on my knees, and BINGO sorted no more rattle :)
Back again, been a late one tonight people. the bit of trim under the indicator was loose unclipped due to damage underneath, I've straightened up the bracket and used one of the clips from the grill to fix it, but unknown to myself i loosened a wire and indicator stopped work , so took it all apart again and sorted that.

The filter and primer look in pretty good nick I'm guessing they have been replaced at some point, i have noticed a lot of oil spillage around the dip, so I'm going to clean that up and see if there is an oil leak spraying from anywhere.

Ive cleaned of as much of the dirt as i can from  the injector pipes, and they were slightly rusted , but only surface thank god, i wouldn't fancy a injector swap out, and fuel prime , no way,

All day has been a mission, except this morning as you read earlier, and like i said my little girl would be home soon as she is , and helped daddy just as i said , holding tools and screws, not to mention playing at breaking in to the car to see if the alarm works
i think she will be in to cars big time when she is older, although she would probably tell me different. she spent ages outside with me, and she was freezing bless her.

SOOO to recap, engine bay clean, part engine clean, Rad grill fastened, trip sorted, indicator fixed, wing straightened, bonnet pulled out, and alarm fixed, not bad for a days work, check in tomorrow and see whats happening , ta ta for now :)
