A Day late

Hi Everyone a day later than expected, its a de rusting day today and have the daughter helping me today bless her, she is ten years old and wants a frontera when she is older :) back soon, pics an all :)

Im back :) what a hectic day , normally i would have posted by now, but been rushed off my feet.

Well so far so good from this angle, it doesnt look to bad lol. its the rest of it , its like a rust farm

but like i said, i had my helper today gave me the chance to do a little under the bonnet.
          I spent some time taking off and rinsing through some air pipes etc.

This side it not as bad as the other and you cant really make out in a picture how bad it really is

Ive had my daughter pasting tons of rust eating gel eveywhere and it has done some good, its still on there now eating away and will get a second coat tomorrow.

I think she loved the idea of getting dirty LOL she was covered in oil and crap from treating rust LOL hahhaha god knows how.

 But Least she got stuck in anyway . so that was a job less for me .:) :) :)

In all honest, i guess these have never been changed and if that is the case then i think they are good for their age. im hoping most of  all the rust will be off in a few weeks, gonna take some time though

ENGINE BAY

I took out the air filter and removed the casing to be greated by a black sludge, i really dont thing its supposed to be there any ideas?

I also removed and cleaned the pipe from the airfilter to the rocker cover and it was caked in crap.

I am starting to wonder if this car has ever had a good service in its life. hmmmmm

The back of the top cover where the pipe was connected was also covered in oil and grease. Im not sure if it was because the clip wasnt bolted shut enoughbut anyway i cleaned it up and put it back together again

I also disconnected this silver pipe, Not 100% sure what it is LOL but im guessing its to do with air flow for the turbo from the intercooler, i may be wrong but im sure one the FOGgers with put me right  ;)

But anyway it never seemed to sit right, and was loose , so after cleaning it up, i reseated it back it to the pipe section inserted it further and tightened it more than it had been.

Now im not being funny, but the turbo seems more active and seems to be a slight increase in power.

But still tomorrow is another day

and we shall see what it holds, ta ta for now guys and girls :)
