another day 2

Good morning all its 9 am any having a coffee before getting started
on this corner, very important to remember to treat the rusted area first otherwise there is no point in using any kind of filling paste as it will just rust straight through again, any thing that dissolves the rust will be cool, as long as it is washed back off before continuing to the next stage.
Also remember before any treatment of affected area begins to remove all loose rust or paint and a little extra just to make sure it doesn't spread.

I must say it is a little on the cold side today, but least the rain is holding off for now. back on a while :)

Well I'm back and thankfully the weather has remained rain free for now anyway, but it is bloody cold out. but  i have made a start anyway.
Ive treated the rust on the O/S part of the bumper, and hopefully it will stay away, and gave that some time to work, before washing it away. damn water was cold as well.

So while that was cooking i had time for a cuppa and a think and to feed the animals, i was remembering back to all the other heaps i had had in my late teens early 20s and the hours i have spent sitting in the cold and sunshine, things were easier and cheaper, petrol was less than 50p per litre, and diesel was cheaper than petrol....... where have those days gone?.

Anyway i have moved on to filling the dimples in the rust, and waiting for it to dry now before i can start the sanding and blending, its like waiting for paint to dry to be honest lol.

its such a messy job at times, wish i was a kid again, you didn't care about getting mucky back then, dirt was fun, even though your parents told you in no uncertain terms  (not to get dirty because your going to visit family later) Awww those were the days.

I just noticed a small dent in the front of the bumper, WHERE DID THAT COME FROM??? i didn't notice it before

How i missed that I'll never know, oh well just a little more work, I'm hoping to have this primed tonight, I'll be gutted if its not :( cracking on now, back soon ;)

UPDATE:
QUICK QUICK QUICK ESCAPE
i just got surrounded but that one annoying kid in the area, every one has one. "what you doing that for?", "are you going to paint it?" "i know someone who can do it better then you" "I can fix cars" and im like "Kid your 7 years old, gimme a break" lol back soon

Hiya, me again, well so far so good , the raining still holding, and so far filling is going well, the dent is almost gone, and im refilling at the mo, trying to get rid of small, imperfections, more pics soon :)

Bumper

Hi im back and im freeeeeezzzzzzing well over the past couple of hours ive been slowing fixing up the front bumper as you know was rust through in the corners and dents and scrapes every where.
here is the before and after of the last corner

The Before is quite easy to see where the damage is and doesnt take much to sort out really, im not great at this, im a novice infact
The after  has been filled as seen before and now sanded and primed, i think it has turned out ok to be honest, what do ya think?
ONLY i didnt stop there

I filled the dent best i could

I Papered up and primed the whole bumper and under skirt, i thought i might as well considering i was there anyway..lol so three cotes of primer later and freezing cold i decided to start on the black :)

It went quite well, ooooh all pictures are clickable for larger pics.I was pleased with how it was starting to look, it will probably need a few extra coats
But even so, for now its a great start i think, for someone who hasnt done this for 18 years i not done bad lol . its not like i was trained to do it ,  just something im interested in as part of a  emmmm Hobby i guess :)
It looks even better unwrapped what do ya think?............ Anyway just before all this , i sprang a water leak, i think ive located the problem hose and tightened it up. sooo im gonna take it for a run up to temp soon and see if i have cured the promblem or not.

Im off for now ladies and gent and will be with you again tomorrow, best wishes to you all, bye for now :)
